As a non-Jewish visitor, I found the Museum to be a fascinating learning experience. The Museum, spread out over four floors, follows the chronological history of the Jewish experience in America beginning in the 1600s and continuing through to the modern era. Each floor covers a specific era in American history giving immigration history as well as how the Jewish... More

This museum is filled (4 floors) with Jewish American history. I ended up spending several hours there. There is just some much information and things to read and view. It was beautifully done and the collections are amazing. Would definately recommend a visit.

This museum -- housed in an airy, modern building on Independence Square -- gives the visitor an amazingly complete and entertainingly presented vision of Jewish life in America, beginning with the first immigrants (in the mid 1650's), and traveling through time via the era of covered wagons through the Civil War, great waves of immigration starting in the 1880s, the... Came away with historical information I'd never heard before and a new understanding of American Jewish participation in the civil rights movement. The exhibits are well done and the museum building itself is beautiful. I thought I would be there a couple of hours. Ended up spending over 4 hours. There are interactive displays that are perfect for children. I... More

You can't leave a visit here without learning something knew about the American Jewish experience or the many contributions made by the Jewish people to enhance our country. While it is less interactive than some of the other museums in this country, there is a wealth of information to read at each exhibit. Sadly, guests must go through security as... More
