We had a delightful moonlight cruise with Captain Tom, his son and a lovely couple from Holland last night. This sailboat is rigged like a Chinese junk and just glides along the sparkling waters of the Delaware River giving all aboard an outstanding view of our beautiful city of Philadelphia and its neighbor across the river Camden. The battleship New... More

Well, to no fault of the captain, the evening of our scheduled Moonlight sail conflicted with a rap concert at the Susquehanna Bank Center across the river. It was very loud and obnoxious, which definitely detracted from the romaticism of the evening. Luckily we have a good sense of humor about these things and weren't too thrown off. The ride... More

While looking for a family activity to break the stress of dual graduate-school graduations on our only day left in Philadelphia, I came across American Sailing Tour's webpage in a Google search. A couple of phone calls later and after talking with Capt. Tom of the schooner Summer Wind, we had a charter booked for sunset that day. We arrived... More

This was a wonderful and unique way to see Philadelphia. My friends and I took a sail last year and really enjoyed it. We did a Tropical Sail and the music added to the fun experience. The 90 minutes was just about right. I am coming back this year with my husband for a Sunset Sail. Thanks for a lot... More

We were on our honeymoon from MN. We very much enjoyed seeing the city lit up at night from the water. You can bring your own wine. Just remember a jacket. It gets a little chilly at night out there. Very beautiful and relaxing. Thanks Tom!!!

My wife and I have enjoyed two tours on the "Summer Wind" this summer and both were excellent. In July, before this American Sailing Tours was too well known, we discovered it and when nobody else showed for the mid-afternoon sailing (they take a total of 6 passengers at a time and that leaves plenty of space for everyone to... Just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable and informative sail. This attractive 6 passenger junk was extremely swift and stable. The morning sail weather was delightful. This 90 minute adventure was a great way to start the day. Since I am from Philadelphia I was quite surprised at all there was to learned about the river. I would recommend this trip... More

I took my husband on the Sunset Sail and it was awesome! I've never seen the city look so beautiful and peaceful. We brought a bottle of wine and the crew was terrific. The sunset was perfect and the city really sparkled on the river at night. This really is one of the most romantic things you can do in... More
