When the crews are on the water at dusk and the boathouses are lit the stunning view is to me quintascential philly
Even though we pass by across the river and view this quite often (since we are local) it never fails to attract our notice as it is so beautiful both day and when lighted up at night!
Take a stroll along the river and enjoy the wonderful architecture of the various rowing clubs. Beautiful flowers in season.
Amazing views all along the waterfront. Beautiful park area that goes on and on. You'll probably see a lot of other people and joggers, boats and a few vendors. There are a couple nice places along the way to stop and have a coffee or snack and rest, if you need to.

This has to be, as one of my Japanese guests noted, "the cutest scenery in America." We love to come by at dusk, to look at the LED's reflected in the river, or in the daytime when the cherries are in bloom.
The walk on the trail is definitely worth walking about. Although you are on the backside of the boathouses, you can still see the rowing boats and all of the activity going on. There's a path on the opposite side of the river, but it didn't really have parking nearby, and it would be a good walk to get to...
