This was the most annoying thing I have ever done!!! I don't see how it could still be running...anyway...Took the "scenic extended tour" there was NOTHING scenic about it. Unless you like backyards, mobile home parks, storage sheds and smelly rotten apples. We couldn't wait to get off this train. STAY AWAY!! YOU WILL HATE IT!

Date visited refers to dates of inquiries/research From all evidence, the train is not running any longer. The web site still exists, but the phone number on the site is disconnected. A phone call to the Pioneer railcorp in IL, which appears to have run the line in 2008, confirmed that they are no longer running the line.

We took the extended 3 hour ride. We drove 2 hours to come to this ride after visiting 4 other rrs in PA ( over the course of a week) . This one was my second favorite. It beat Strasburg. Not sure why people disliked it so much. The scenery was nice and we passed some interesting factorys and different... More

The Ghost Train was okay at best. A tad overpriced-$22 per adult. It seemed like we stopped in front of one haunted bed and breakfast, then went through the woods to see a bunch of trees and people's backyards, stopped and then went back the same way we came. The Engine House was a bit creepy and I did get... More

My family and I thought that it would be pretty neat to ride on a old train in Gettysburg and hear ghost stories. Boy were we wrong!!!! It cost 22 dollars to basically hear Ann , the storyteller, ramble on and on about stuff. Half the time no one knew what the heck she was talking about. The funniest part... More

Our family decide to take the ghost train tour before Halloween as something different to do. IT SURE WAS DIFFERENT!!! What a waste of $22.00. Our Tour guide, Ann, rambled and told stories that made no sense and were not interesting. The window at my sons seat would not close so he and his girl friend were very cold as... More

My daughter and I took the Ghost Train October 18th thinking we're pretty easy to please, it can't be as bad as the reviews lead you to believe. Sad to say, like most everyone that has left a review, we were disappointed. It would not have been half bad if they had a better "story-teller". The lady we had was... More

We were very disappointed in the Pioneer Lines Scenic Railway Ghost Train trip on July 26, 2008. We were a party of 6. Including two adults, two teenagers and two senior citizens. Everyone was BORED to tears! It was terribly HOT inside the train. Not one of the ceiling fans were working and the train cars were not air conditioned.... More

We did the Scenic Train Ride with the conductor's lunch. The lunch was a turkey/cheese sandwich, bag of chips, bag of cookies and soda for $7. Better fare from the McDonald's value meal. The train ride itself wasn't scenic at all. It was one short stint through the battlefield followed by people's back yards (if you could see anything through... More

I wish we knew of this website prior to our trip to Gettysburg. My husband and I decided that a haunted train ride might be more exciting than doing a haunted walk and supposidly we were going to "Take a ride on the Gettysburg Ghost Train, past the haunted Engine House and experience the first-hand voices of the dead as...
