The tour guides do a wonderful job of making the whole scene of the battles and the plight of the soldiers (many only 17-20 years old) come alive.
Make sure to do the Visitor Center and Museum 1st. The 'Auto' tour is well marked and easy to follow right out of the Visitor Center. There are tours available by bus, you can also 'rent' a guide or buy a tape/cd to use in the car. It is quite long and will take a couple of hours to complete...

Love the vistor's center. It is easy to get around and for the first time you get to meet the men who were there
The park is just beautiful and well kept and the visitor's center is a must see stop that every age can enjoy. We,ve hooked out grandchildren on civil war history by taking them here.
