It is amazing that this city was planned with all the squares. A park every 2-3 blocks. You never feel you are in a large city.

I love Forsyth Park. Like walking back into time to a more gentile era. A beautiful relaxing setting, all served up with genuine southern hospitality. Savannah is a great place to visit. The best place in GA!
A must stop if you visit Savannah. It has the iconic fountain, and a splash pad if you have kids. It was a nice change of pace from the history of Savannah, although you get that there too :)
We walked all the way to Forsyth Park from Bay Street so were somewhat tired (ok--exhausted) by the time we got the Forsyth Park. Therefore, we did not explore the whole thing. Come to this park and spread out...enjoy the open spaces. There is a great playground and a restroom...these weren't there in my earlier visits. On Saturdays there is a Farmer's Market, so leave time to find parking. I have always thought it would be a great place to picnic (my 3 y/o even mentioned a picnic when we were walking)....

this is a great place to just hang out and let the kids run around. there is a beautiful fountain and cafeteria there and large statues in the middle of it.

Very beautiful and historic park. A "must see" if you visit Savannah. The fountain is lovely and park is very cool on a hot day. We were approached by a local who offered to take our picture together by the fountain (often a nice gesture) and he told us a few historical things about the area which were interesting. But then...

What a great park, I wish we had one like it here in Myrtle Beach. Lot's of things to do, play grounds, room for playing games, water for the kids to play in, things to see, and even a farmers market on Saturday. Awesome place if you want to just relax as well.
