We rented a car and drove up the ~70 miles to Chena Hot Springs resort. Stopped along the way on a couple of the many pull offs. Beautiful scenic drive. At the museum, they provided parkas & we had hats & gloves too. Museum was small but beautiful. Enjoyed the martinis in the handmade ice glasses. Expensive, but hey, its... More

This place is a tourist trap. After going to the Ice festival the ice museum was a big let down, The tour guide was more interested in hustling as through because the tour started a little late. Don't waste your money the free tour of the geothermal plant and green houses was way more interesting. A long drive.

I had no idea what to expect, but the carvings are amazing. And drinking an appletini out of an ice glass is very fun (plus it was good!)

This is worth seeing (although a bit pricey). The sculptures are amazing and it is sort of neat to see what can be created from ice.

We went here at the same time Fairbanks was doing their annual Ice Festival. The Festival is the better deal. More sculptures for less cost, plus an ice slide park for the kiddies The guy who let us in to the museum didn't even know how much the spheres weighed, which I found odd considering they were all over the... I think the title, "museum," is a bit of a misnomer, as was the "tour." Without a doubt, the sculptures are beautiful, and the work that went into the construction and creation is impressive. It is like a warehouse freezer with several incredible pieces of art made of ice, a bar that serves 1 drink (Appletinis) and several beds made... More

The exhibit had a lot of very impressive ice carvings, but the price tag was pretty high for the small exhibit. It's understandable because it's a special attraction only available there, but I wish there was more to see.

Fabulous ice museum with quest rooms for overnight stays! A bar made entirely from ice...including the glasses, and many wonderful lighted sculptures.

We had a very informative guide. We learned how the ice is carved and maintained. We saw the sculptures, the bar, and the four hotel rooms. (Yes. You can sleep there on the ice.) We sat at the bar and drank appletinis in the martini glass made of ice. Everything in the museum is made of ice. It is lighted... More

Well, the idea of building a all-year round ice house is cool. However, they put so many people inside--60 people in our group! It's very crowded inside and difficult to take photos. No one came to guide us or explain anything for us. It was an one-hour tour but we only stayed for 20minutes since it was boring. It's much... More
