It is normally photogenic, but not with tons of construction going on. Watch out if you veer into the bike lane as folks are racing downhill and you might get hurt.
We enter the Brooklyn Bridge from lower Manhattan by the courthouse and walk it both ways, but if you only have time for one way I would walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan so you have that great view in front of you. Do it early morning, best time as less tourists but more runners. Great veiws, Great Walk. Some of the bridge is covered at the moment but didnt realy detract from such a reat sight.
Our taxi driver told us it would take over an hour to walk the bridge, which was rather a daunting prospect as it was pouring with rain the day we chose for our Brooklyn visit. Very easy, very safe, extremely scenic walk. At the Brooklyn end there is a beautiful walk. Go up to Brooklyn Heights and walk the beautiful neighborhoods.
We enjoyed our walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. It was a nice view and is a busy place. They sell water and fruit in some places on the bridge if you are in need of refreshments on your journey.
Liked the great views from the bridge, plenty of photo opportunities, the walk was good, even on a very warm day. Try a visit to the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory when you finish your walk, makes it all worthwhile.
