Once we had worked out how easy it is to get there via subway and Path from Jersey City, we had a great day out at Coney Island. The atmosphere of the place was really good, my grandson enjoyed all the rides he went on. Unfortunately it was too windy to spend time on the beach. I would recommend a... More

The draw for Coney Island was always the tackiness of it all, but now they've re done the boardwalk as well as one of the parks. You can still find your shady side of Coney Island but the Boardwalk has lost a lot of it's old school appeal. At least it's cleaner now

It's good to see familiar and new faces in Coney Island. Nathan's will be back up and running by May 31, Nathan's on the boardwalk is already open. We have a new diner on the boardwalk and Grimaldi's on avenue (Neptune Ave) along with It's Sugar and huge candy shop. All of the rides are back up and running. There... More

It used to be real great in the old days but for this reason or another throughout the years the place turned into gathering of riff-raff and by default young people, as expected from the average Luna Park gowers. the establishments just got old and really look old and beat up. It most definitely had it's heydays during the early... More

Whether you are going to the renowned Mermaid parade (never been) or just walking around the historical area and riding the absolutely-crazy-old-roller-coaster numerous times (seriously), Coney Island is not to be missed. Every July 4th you can catch the world famous hot dog eating contest, go JOEY CHESTNUT!!! GO JAPAN!!! It is something worth seeing. Of course, most of the... More

A direct subway ride from Manhatten down to a long, big sandy beach! Great on a hot day and for a walk along the wooden slat promenade ( bumpy for wheelchairs). There is an old funfair for kids which wasn't open when we were there. There are toilet facilities and cheap snack places to eat along the seafront. Makes a change... More

We’ve been to New York many times and we were looking for an attraction that we hadn’t yet been to. We had read some pretty bad reviews about Coney Island but we thought we would give it a go and we were pleasantly surprised! Less than an hour from Manhattan it’s easy to get to and only a few minutes... More

crowds and music. I hope they don't stop having the house music over the summers. It's so much fun walking around tasting the foods and listening to music at night.

Going to Coney Island brings back memories of when i was a kid. The beach, Astroland, the barbecues, all embellish the likes of Coney Island.
