The draw for Coney Island was always the tackiness of it all, but now they've re done the boardwalk as well as one of the parks. You can still find your shady side of Coney Island but the Boardwalk has lost a lot of it's old school appeal. At least it's cleaner now

A direct subway ride from Manhatten down to a long, big sandy beach! Great on a hot day and for a walk along the wooden slat promenade ( bumpy for wheelchairs).
