not as scary as it look! The view was amazing, but seating is limited, most passengers had to stand(still not bad, I choose to stand coming and going). very affordable and you can capture great photos.

The ride offers a full view of the great smoky mnts. We opted for this tramway which overs space for a group. The tour guide points out houses built on mtn, and the bears in area at top of mtn at ski lodge. The ride is nice, there is some dipping as in carival rides but it offers post card...

We love the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway. While we were in Galtinburg we rode it twice, once in the morning and the once at night. The view was great.
We decided to do the Ober Tram since we have been on other ones around the world and really liked those ones. This one wasn't as scenic as other locations we have been too. It also didn't go to the top of the mountain...you had to ride a ski lift to get to the top after the tram ride.

The views going up and coming back down is all there is. Once at the top there is no area to simply take in the view. The "shopping mall" is a tourist trap. Not worth the $12 round trip fare.
The ride up and down is all there is. You are taking a ride to the winter season ski lodge which is transformed to tourist trap in the summer. There is no observation deck/area once you get to the top. You go over a lot of trees but the 10 minute ride each way is hardly worth $12 plus $5-10...

I was pretty terrified on the way up, the ride can be a little bumpy and swingy, but totally worth the amazing views. Not much to do up on top in the summer, other than take in the view, but totally worth it
This is my third time riding it. I would love to see it during winter. You really see some unique mountain homes. Look for the house built around a boulder.
Tram ride was awesome...views were indescribable! I was a little nervous at first but the operator was very knowledgeable and even provided some great descriptions of some of the houses while we traveled up. Make sure and watch the weather before you go, though. We got to the top and almost immediately a storm rolled in and left us stranded...

If you haven't rode a tram, you should do this one. Unfortunately, it started pouring down rain as we were leaving; therefore our views were not as good as in the past, but you could still see some things. It was not crowded - rain, but our guide said earlier there was 112 people on the tram. I couldn't imagine...
