Lots of elephants around! We also saw thomson's gazelle, vervet monkeys, water buck, impala, dik-dik, buffalo, hartebeeste, giraffe, zebra, dwarf mongoose, regular-sized mongoose, olive baboon and load's of birds. We stayed in the public campsite which after dark became home to wandering impala (and even later on some very noisy hyena and lion poking around the tent!). I would recommend... More

We did our trip with Roy Safaris and our day in Tarangire was so wonderful for all the elephants we saw. It was very special. We were most grateful to our guide, Habib, and the

Beautiful Park with lots of elephants and some giraffes. Beware of the monkeys if you eat at the entrance as they like to get in your vehicles and even steal your lunch from the table. We got some great pictures and beautiful memories.

We traveled to Tarangire in February so not the best time of year as a lot of the animals migrate out of the park. I couldn't tell. There were elephants everywhere. We saw so many animals on the drive in. We also took advantage of the fact that this park lets you do game walks and night drives - we... More

We booked a safari with Basecamp Tanazania. We had a great experience. Our first park on the northern circuit was Tarangire. The ride from Arusha was on a good road (mostly). At the park entrance you will likely be met my black faced monkeys making mischief. Remember it's a park not a zoo, so I can't say what you will... More

Stayed in Tarangire for two nights. Saw lots of journeys of giraffes and herds of elephants. Also saw several hyrax. Watch out for the vervet monkeys at the entrance to the park. They love to steal food so make sure, When leaving your vehicle, that the windows are closed all the way.

This park is known for it's elephant population and it is a great place to observe what beautiful and loving families elephants have.. There are also many impalas. The big males can be so statuesque . If you watch closely, you will sometimes be able to see a python curled in a ball up in an acacia tree. (I've seen... More

I would highly recommend adding Tarangire National Park to your itinerary. It is much closer to Arusha / Kilimanjaro than the more popular Serengeti and Ngorongoro and far, far less crowded. In our short early afternoon game drive (not usually ideal conditions) we saw a large herd of elephants which crossed in front of us, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, ostrich, flamingos,... More

Two things stand out about Tarangire National Park - the magnificent baobab trees, some hundreds of years old, and the huge numbers of elephant, many with quite stunning tusks.Elephants were everywhere we looked, in small groups, in larger family groups and on occasions in huge groups - and we had some very close encounters! The range of bird-life was also... More

This park is one of the most beautiful parks in Tanzania. The variety of the landscape is big, hills, riverside, beautiful baobab trees that can be huge , swamps and plains. The park is full of wildlife and lots of elephants. This time there were just to many tsee tsee flies. We have been 2 times before and it was... More
