Vilas Park is a great park to go to. It's right next to Vilas Zoo and by the lake and Arboretum. There's two children parks within it and open fields for sports as well as a ponds. Just a beautiful walking area. The area was very clean and well maintained. Lots of places to stop and enjoy the surroundings.

Vilas Park is always a fun place to go for children and adults. Picnics, playing an the playground equipment, or just sitting on a blanket watching the world go by. A very well kept park!

It's a great place to spend the day. Lots of open areas, lake with swimming beach and the zoo is right at the park. It's a wonderful zoo and is always having some thing added to it.

free zoo great place to go when ther is nothing to do around town the only down side is the parking but its going to be busy its free... lot of animals and lots of indoor stuff as well.

I haven't seen them all, but Vilas Zoo is as good as it could be, and it's totally free. I hope you through a few dollars in the kitty for animal food and salaries, but you'll do it because you want to keep this gem going.

Thanks the the Vilas family trust, the zoo and Park cannot charge admission. Lunch isn't free, but the animals are. Vilas Park has had some great managers who made the Park a great place for families. A free zoo, a play area, the beach and lagoon...the only thing in short supply is, predictably,parking.
