So many things to see here. THE BUTTERFLIES ARE BEAUTIFUL. My boyfriend and I went here one afternoon even though we dont have kids. It was a lovely day to spend the afternoon on a rainy day.

The displays seemed a bit run down but they did show a variety of insects at work including walking sticks, beetles, bumblebees etc. There was a small aquarium with baby alligators, a cclimb on display of what's in the soil (great for kids), and a butterfly garden with butterflies and birds (herbivorous varieties so they don't eat the butterflies). We saw a lot of insects that we had no previous knowledge of. Fascinating to watch them in well done mock ups of their native habitats. The Butterfly Garden is the best feature as they are flying all around the room that you're in.

Wasn't sure about this one based on some of the reviews but thought it was great. Many live bug specimens & interesting interactive exhibits.

I really loved being in the butterfly room, with the butterflys freely flying about. I hated seeing the giant roaches!!

The Audubon Insectarium is one of our favorite attractions in New Orleans. We have a little boy, so it's especially amusing to him to see and learn about the world of insects! The movie is adorable and my favorite part is the butterfly garden with butterflies everywhere, koi fish, a tortoise and birds. This is a perfect attraction for families... More

I was hesitant to go as a single adult with no kids but I am so happy I did go. The layout is a bit awkward and you have to do both sides at the same time otherwise you miss something but there is plenty to see and is VERY informative. For children this would be an outstanding place to... More

Overall the museum is a nice "new" addition to the zoo/aquarium. All of the different areas are fairly well developed with a variety of unique & "creepy" bugs as well as some familiar ones we're used to. Given that this is Louisiana, we can really relate to seeing some of these bugs first hand!! The information provided in each of... More

Those creepy-crawlers, so much a part of Louisiana life, really come to life, and they won't take a "bite" out of your budget, either! Unique place, and you can taste some crickets and other bugs, too. Not bad!
