We have a 5 year old and 8 year old. We go to science museums and children's museums often....one of our favorite things to do. This museum was an exception. Paid the AAA discount rate at $7 each for total of $28 for the family. Wish I could get a refund...... Kids ready to leave after 45 min. And that... More

I have taken my 2 grandsons to children's museums in Lynchburg, Baltimore, Charleston and other cities in the past 2 years and Richmond's ranks dead last. I don't think it's changed since I took my kids there 25 years ago. I also don't think it's been cleaned since then. It was also left to the visitors to tell the school... More

I felt like bleaching the family after leaving this museum. All of the exhibits are overly worn out, dirty, and or broken/missing. This place is in desperate need of cleaning, updating, and or remodeling before I come back.

we were driving through Richmond and needed a place to stop and let our 2 year run around a bit. this was the perfect spot. There was so much for him to explore and do. He did so much running around that he slept for the next hour and a half in the car. This is a place meant for... More

We were very dissappointed as this place call's itself a Museum. We were expecting a lot of History in the form of Educated Staff to give a tour or something. This was nothing more than a gift shop and a place for kids to play. Very Dirty and unorganized. $8 per adult and another $2 to ride the carousel. Would... More

Our 18 month and 4 year old children loved this place. We spent 3 hours, but could have easily spent the whole day there. Water, drinks and snacks available on site, but be prepared to go elsewhere for lunch. Favorite activities included the auto mechanic shop (changing tires and mufflers, etc.) and playing with the bats in the "cave."

Fun time for the kids and for adults that are watching the kids explore new things. So glad they have added more locations!

This was an outstanding children's museum for a small city, until they started 2 new branches. They took some of the more interesting exhibits, such as the water play area, and put them in a branch, then substituted a pay carousel that has few customers. The branch in Short Pump is nice for the under 3's, but the one in... More

You don't have a sign that says the line closes at noon then not let anyone in line at 11:30! That is horrible! I have taken my children every year since they were born! A tradition now broken. I have to now explain why Santa doesn't want to see them! Absolutely ridiculous! If you are a business, you don't make... More

Though we didn't have any small children with us, we still had a really good time at the Children's Museum on Broad St. The building is an old train station (Richmond is wonderful for history buffs!) and has a beautiful lobby. Lots of families and couples, friendly staff. Right when you walk in is a large pendulum in the middle... More
