A very nice park, but signage could use some work. We were trying to find the trail to the overlook and got lost. Trails are only occasionally blazed, signs are next to non existent, and the map from the visitor center is useless.

Decided to stop by and visit on a short trip to Vermont for a race up Mt Ascutney. Called ahead to schedule a tour of the main house. The tour and grounds were excellent and the rangers were very knowledgeable and helpful. Great way to spend two or three hours rain or shine.
Beautiful grounds and gardens. Beautiful home. Informative visitor center. Tour of home is given by a park ranger. Firearms not allowed on property. Didnt see that sign till afterwards! oops!
While there are many outside hiking trails, we visited on a rainy day and thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the mansion as well as an introductory film at the Farm Museum. There is an excellent art collection as well as pictures of many of the original residents. We hope to return to walk some of the trails and Mount Tom.
You'll be amazed at what you learn about the conservationist efforts in Vermont and how these three men and their families helped the cause. The tour guide for the Marsh Billings Rockefeller house tour was excellent (ours was done by National Park Service intern Amanda) and the time spent at the Billings Farm and Museum added a real fun element...

Great educational experience for children & adults alike! A working farm & museum with a movie theater
The Rockefeller home looks as if Mr. Rockefeller left just yesterday, which is how he intended it to be. The miles of hiking trails are delightful as they pass through deep woods and meadows. There are water features as well as splendid views.
When it was suggested to me visit a farm, I thought-No Thanks. But I am glad we went..the tour of the house was very interesting and the tour guide was very informative. I learned alot and would even return with my wife if I am in the area again.
Make sure to get a guided tour of the mansion, it is absolutely worth the time and the price. Be sure and leave plenty of time to walk the beautiful trails behind the mansion when you are done. Lovely and well managed woods!
After a beautiful walk on well marked trails in the winter has us planning another visit in the spring to check out the mansion and hear more about the founders land stewardship efforts.
