You have to pay $11 to park and it lasts all the day, if you want to go back for the night. It did not disappoint and a very nice walk around. It is well built and loved the grand view to take photos. The flags on the way in looked great and the columns with each state on a... More

I went to Mount Rushmore on my way to college. As I drove up the driveway I saw the drive lined with Flags of the States, and then you saw a log building that was the gift center. You never saw the Mountain until you were already there. I was amazed with the detail and how beautiful it really was.... More

The monument was rather smaller than expected, but the small museums did a fantastic job showing the history of how the monument was built. Several of the museum exhibits were interactive. Our nephew especially enjoyed the exhibit where you could "blow up" parts of the mountain. We also enjoyed the flag exhibit that showed every state's flag and when it... More

One doesn't have to tell people that you must see this if you get the chance, but why not. This was the main focus or the highlight of the 3,000 miles journey we embarked on and it was truly a sight to be seen.

Sure, we've all seen or read about Mount Rushmore but to actually be there in person was quite thrilling. Although we had a National Parks Pass that gets us into national parks for free, we did have to pay $11 for parking. We had our dog with us and since he couldn't accompany us to the actual monument, he had... More

Interesting scam. No entrance fee however, you pay $11 to park. It was worth 30 minutes and a few quick pictures. Certainly not a "do over"

My daughter and I went to Mount Rushmore during our Spring Break at the end on March. We were amazed at the majesty of the mountain carvings as we drove up to the site. We are Canadian, but truly appreciated the patriotic nature of Mount Rushmore. It is really a place to appreciate the meaning of democracy. We didn't realize... More

I don't know what I was expecting, but I was completely underwhelmed by Mt. Rushmore. It's exactly what you're expecting; tall carvings of the faces of four presidents. Your entry fee doesn't get you within 500 feet of it so you can't get a true scale of their size/detail, and even if you did, it's not as big as you... More

We stopped here on our way to Yellowstone. It is much like the Grand Canyon in that after you've seen it ... its time to go. We paid $11 to park and were in the park maybe 30 minutes. We met some folks from Indiana (always happens) and took a ton of pictures. Then we took off for the next... More
