Mount Rushmore lives up to all expectations and more. Suggest an evening visit starting about 6:00 PM. Plan on staying for the patriotic presentation starting at 9:00 PM and the lighting of the mountain. This is followed by veterans being asked to come to the stage for the retrieval of the USA flag. A wonderful experience. More

This national monument just inspires awe! The memorial is just more than you can imagine until you see if in person. Take the presidential trail if you can to get even closer to the monument. Excellent Visitor's Center, nice little restaurant, and museum and movie. More

There's so much more here than just the 4 faces - the stories behind the carving, the reasons why the four presidents, the men behind the art work, etc. Great photos in the morning light. Have breakfast, walk the trails, be gone by 11 am to avoid the crowds. More
