I took both boys ages 2 and 6 on this beautiful walk around the lake. It is breathtaking and serene. As stated by other reviewers, the road to Bear Lake is closed for construction from 9a-4p mon-fri. When you do drive up, use the shuttle lot, there are so many cars with the limited schedule and you will have already... More

Great small lake with scenic beauty. Nice hike around. Usually busy or full after morning so go before 9:00 to be sure you can park or else you may have to take the shuttle, but even that is not bad at all.

We were expecting Lake Tahoe but found a large pond. It was easy to get to from the parking lot. Very peaceful and picturesque.

This is a very easy short (1/2 mile) and scenic hike. There are benches along the way and many spots for great pictures. There is plenty of parking. The altitude is high so be prepared to drink lots of water and take it slow.

The hike around the lake is a really easy hike, but you see so many things. Definitely recommended for families or for anyone who isn't feeling up to a difficult hike! Beautiful scenery, and great place for fishing. The trail is very well groomed, too. There are a bunch of other hikes around this immediate area.

The hike around Bear Lake was wonderful. It was not difficult, so families would enjoy it. There was still snow on the ground at the end of May, which made it interesting. We had to be careful not to slip on some of the trails.

This lake is the essence of Rocky Mountain National Park. The road leading up to this lake is a mini-tour of the park, it is a very scenic drive, going around curves, over bridges, around huge boulders, through forests, and passing wild life. Bear Lake is pristine and picturesque, with mountains (some with snow covered peaks) in the distance. It... More

Lovely is only the beginning. Going for an hour or for all day hiking are both worth it. I love being there by myself even. As you look across the lake there are mountain peaks (11,000+), evergreens, usually blue sky! The walk around the lake might be 15-minutes shortest. Or, if you stop to enjoy the many views it takes... More

Such a wonderful drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. and the lake is so beautiful. There is a free shuttle but on the weekends you can drive yourself. The visitor center is great. We love to stop by and learn about the park and watch a nice short movie.
