Visited May 17, 2012. Elephant area empty except for construction crew and equipment, seal pool contained a staff member cleaning the tank, otter pool and mountain goat/sheep enclosures had staff members performing routine maintenance, and there was a construction crew noisily employed building a wild boar enclosure. Nearly all of stores and commercial buildings were closed at 10 am. I... More

Overall the zoo was wonderful, given the time we visited there was still a number of animals that could be seen. I will be going again now that the weather is getting warmer. The food was a bit overpriced for the quality, and the service was not very pleasant. More

We went for Mother's Day weekend on Saturday. Moms get in free all weekend. We were given a free carnation and other fun stuff throughout the park. Animals are well cared for, there are plenty of dining and gift shop options, and lots to see and do. We actually ended up doing the zoo twice basically because my daughter wanted... More

I am a member here and I love this zoo. It's just big enough that your kids don't get tired out. They have so many animals but the last couple of times we went, many were missing from their cage, sometimes with a note explaining they had gone to the vet and others with no note. You should pack a... More

Another Providence gem, Roger Williams Park Zoo is easy to navigate, small enough for the little ones, and interesting enough for older kids and adults. Parking is tight, but if go early in the day you won't have a problem. It is not inexpensive, though free day passes are available at the local library. There is food inside-mostly junky fast... Over the years, the Zoo has offered wonderful exhibits. I was a docent during the Polar Bear era when Triton was born. Of course the baby bear was named after his parents Trixie and Norton (The Honeymooners) for us elder folks. Can you remember the baby's name? Triton. Only with your continued interest in the Zoo, its animals, and its... More

This is just about the perfect sized zoo for my 6 y/o. All the exhibits are well designed and many of the animals seemed more active than some zoos I have visited (though I am sure that is a hit or miss sort of thing). We got as close to elephants and giraffes as I think is possible without being... More

The zoo is small and cute. The entrance fee is a little bit expensive taking into consideration what the zoo has to offer but the lay out of the exhibitions is nice and the variety of animals is good. Don't miss the bald eagles and the Giraffe feeding. More

It is not the Bronx Zoo but, for the area it is one of the better zooz. They always have something special going on which makes it enjoyable. More

I have been twice around Halloween for their Jack-O-Lantern show. Walk around the property at night and see thousands of beautifully sculpted jack-o-lanterns. I would recommend going as soon as it opens (a few weeks before Halloween) because the closer to Halloween you get, the more people go to see everything. And it's hard to enjoy when you are literally... More
