If you want to skip the typical theatre with long lines and crowds inside a mall come here and catch a film. Location is great, lots of bars, restaurants and shopping right there. Parking can be a pain depending on time of day, but it's such a nice neighborhood so you don't mind the walk.

This movie theatre is amazing. The movies shown are mostly independent movies, but if you are not into them, consider going just for the experience. Tickets cost $8. The snack stands are very old school, which makes it really cool. When I was there, there were only 5 people in the cinema so it felt like it was a private... More

Small quaint neighborhood theatre. It is convenient and shows not only first run movies, but also a variety of other interesting movies and documentarys.

Old-school theater, featuring independent cinema. Could be a tiny bit more adventurous in programming, but then I'm very grateful for what it is.

So many things to love about the Avon. They play a great selection of films, not the cheesy stuff you find at the multiplex. The lobby is old-school and reminds me of the theatre I used to go to as a kid. Very nostalgic type of place, in a good way! The only complaint I have, really, is that the... More

You can rely on the Avon to have interesting and provocative films. Located in the heart of collegiate Thayer St, it's a great destination for a movie and meal.

Old time movie theater that features indie and other non-blockbuster releases............but they still get top productions. (Kings Speech, Tree of Life, etc)
