The place is closed in the off season (when we went), but we knew that, It was nice to just walk around the property and see where our American President had his summer house.

I really enjoyed this and so did our kids! Good historical tour as well as walking trails. You can take a lunch but there are some good take out options nearby.

What an amazing place. I never knew it existed until we began researching our trip to Acadia. This is a beautiful area. The people who run the museum are very knowledgeable and friendly. We were lucky enough to attend "Tea with Eleanor" and it was a highlight- make sure you do it if you can! The property is gorgeous, but... More

The cottage and grounds are beautiful, but don't miss the hiking! One of the most beautiful hikes we did, including Acadia, was a hike starting at Racoon Beach to Liberty Point.

Seeing all the original possessions of the Roosevelts, I thought they would walk in at any time. Tour staff were very informative & helpful.

Make sure you take in the "tea with Eleanor Roosevelt" presentation - the presentations were excellent, we could have listened to Debbie and Carolyn for hours - and the Hubbard Cottage tour.
