It takes all of ten minutes to circle the entire area of Pioneer Village, but once you enter some of the houses and listen to the local blacksmith, you've spent an hour trying to imagine how people could survive back then. Great for kids.

We really appreciated walking through the different styles of homes that would have been built by the early settlers of Salem. The staff was very friendly and able to give us some really good information.
One note: we walked here from downtown Salem and it took about 30 minutes each way. We had a beautiful Fall day and enjoyed the...

The guide book I got from the hotel didn't say when it opened. We drove all the way there and it doesn't open for another month!
This is a true to history experience. Terrific tour and structures.
Did not do alot for us but we toured around the old town just because it is apart of history. spent a couple of hours here looking around. Thats about it.
We went here a few times. But this time was great. a wonderful tour of the living history museum. Go check it out. a great way to see life in the early 17th century.

We had fun seeing all the recreations of the old dwellings, and there were people dressed old-timey, going about their old-timey business. We squealed with delight!
This village is very small ( probably about 8 buildings or so) but it was very educational and interesting in terms of history. We were greeted by a man and woman at the front hut where admission of $6 pp was paid. Then the man took us on a guided tour and explained the history of the area and significance...
