This is a superb museum that gives well curated information about the tribes of Indians occupying the southwest United States. The displays are elegant. The museum hosts temporary exhibits as well. While we were there, we saw one on the mountain lion and another displaying paintings made by women in the early 20th century. There are several delightful Wright-ish areas... More

First, I did not take the guided tour...that might have raised this rating. Highlights were the story of Tim's Cave, women of Arizona display, mountain lions in Arizona exhibit, and Lillian Smith paintings. Beautiful presentation of items. Book Store volunteers need to beef up on their knowledge of the museum.

We have been to all of the major and a lot of the minor Native American museums in the Southwestern US. This one is our favorite. Nice gift shop, a play area for kids, and a nice display of artifacts and artwork. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful.

Has good explanation on the Grand Canyon generation and some very nice pieces of Navajo and Hopi crafts. Is small and it's a good place to relax, get away from the weather and learn a little.

On the edge of Flagstaff, it is an excellent museum with a good overview of local Native American cultures. A very good shop with helpful staff who located a book for us in another shop, which they didn't have on site. Liked the Women Painters and Famous Arizona Women exhibits.

This museum is in an interesting old stone building. Their regular exhibits on the geological and archeological history of the area is excellent. There is a special exhibit on women's western art and locally found native american pottery. There is also a gift shop, but a separate book store - we purchased books there written by local authors. The museum... More
