This is a superb museum that gives well curated information about the tribes of Indians occupying the southwest United States. The displays are elegant. The museum hosts temporary exhibits as well. While we were there, we saw one on the mountain lion and another displaying paintings made by women in the early 20th century. There are several delightful Wright-ish areas...

First, I did not take the guided tour...that might have raised this rating. Highlights were the story of Tim's Cave, women of Arizona display, mountain lions in Arizona exhibit, and Lillian Smith paintings. Beautiful presentation of items. Book Store volunteers need to beef up on their knowledge of the museum.
An excellent overview of northern Arizona from pre historic to the present. Tells you a lot about early Native Americans with pottery examples etc. We saws a great exhibit on mountain lions. Also a most interestinbg exhibit on early 20th century women artisits.

There is a special exhibit on women's western art and locally found native american pottery. There is also a gift shop, but a separate book store - we purchased books there written by local authors. The museum...
