If you ski, try the Snow Bowl ski resort. Not flashy like California or Colorado; laid back, reasonably priced, with great views. In summer, wonderful trails and a fun ski lift ride - great on a hot day as it is much cooler up top. Fabulous views all around.

We enjoyed having these as the backdrop during our two days in the Flagstaff area. We didn't do any hiking or anything, but took lots of pictures.

There’s something glorious about a snow-covered peak and when several are grouped together against a backdrop of sky with the sun gleaming off the ice, it kind of makes you draw a breath in wonder! Located within the vast Coconino National Forest as we travelled north out of Flagstaff, this mountain range dramatically over - shadowed a diverse landscape including... More

Absolutely one of my favorite places to go in and around Flagstaff. The view from the parking area just below the Snowbowl if fantastic and the drive up is even more beautiful. My only regret is not seeing all the aspens changing color in the fall, I would have loved to have seen the golden leaves against the white trunks.

We came up from Sedona and when we turned off 89 to get onto the highway, we were greeted by the awesome sight of these snow covered peaks! It gave us a sense of peace driving towards them. Beautiful

The drive from Flagstaff through this area was perfect we took 180 North out of Flag up to 64N on our way to the Grand Canyon. The change in scenery from Sedona to Flag and now up here was awesome. All we did was drive it and had a picnic lunch at one of the parking areas. We bundled up... More

We could see the peaks from our deck at our timeshare and loved the majestic beauty each day. The snow at the top was melting a bit so we left with a little less snow than when we arrived!

Highest mountains in Az and the views are fantastic. Also some great trails all around the peaks. May through Oct are the best months for hiking and biking. Skiing in Dec to April if a good snow year.
