surreal being inside the crater, where you enter Diamond Head to go hiking to the peak. It is an easy to moderate walk. Not much in way of snacks/drinks, so take your own in a backpack.

I liked this place but it a lot of walk to get to the top . But the view you get are amazing we took lot of great pictures . We travelled apr which are not really hot we had lot if water all the time to keep hydrated but in summer god bless you but overall well worth it
We caught a taxi from our hotel ($14) to the entrance and paid the cheap $1 per person entrance fee and did the hike to the top. It is quite easy if you take your time and pace yourself. It's a concrete path, then rocky ground and then steps. All up, it is about an hour and a half... that's...

Many people do not know you can drive into Diamond Head. There is a park inside. You will have to pay to park if you drive in. It is an interesting geological formation and you will get a feel for the make up of the islands.

Easy to get to, only $1 entry fee (by foot) easy access by public transit and great views. Parking lot with convenience store and picnic area. Safe climb with paved area - good for family with kids also.
Awesome views, one part tough climb using the stairs. Use alt way and you will be much happier. Go left and not right and you will miss those killer stairs. Go early, no later then 0830 I would say due to parking. Bring water and wear a hat.
bring water...bring water...bring water!!!

Maybe it's the heat/humidity...but most people were looking pretty tired by the top...
