A nice showing of the battle's artifacts. I was impressed at how much was preserved. A must see in a visit to Vicksburg

Everyone loved the ship they are rebuilding on site. The big open spaces for running around suited our needs as well. The park rangers were helpful and nice but there were... More
You must start here before the battlefield, great information and short film. If you want a private guided tour call ahead and arrange it for yourself or your party!
What we saw was people basically selling CD's about the driving tour. There are clean bathrooms and a film. Posters on the wall did not represent what was happening at the park. It was crowded.

Great displays on the union attacks on the confederate lines, and the siege and its effects on the Vicksburg citizens. The film is also very well done and informative. The live fire artillery demonstration outside the museum is not to be missed.
It was very enlightening about the Civil War and what the soldiers went through. The museum is done in a way the the pictures and positions of the statues tell the story.
