Like most of the Island, Atalaia is a very nice spot on the coast of F. d. N. Most tourist are told you can only go to Atalaia with a tour guide that charges R$ 50,00 per person (low season). Once you are there, you find a small shallow natural pool that forms itself at low tide. It is packed... More

It is a nice shallow pull with good variety of small fish, but with all the hype your expectations are disappointed by 30 min in the water after about the same amount of time walking to it. It is not worth it, in my opinion, to go through signing up for visting this restricted access location if you have time... More

Access is controlled. You have to reserve this in advance. They even ask you to remove sunblock to protect the wildlife. I took the small trail. It's an easy 15min walk and you get to a natural pool with beautiful natural wildlife. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Baby sharks, lobsters, octopus, fishes of all kinds... Out... You will pay a tax of conservation to visit this natural pool for one hour, in a company of a guide. To get there, is necessary to choose a trail: the long one lasts about 60 minutes, and the short one about 30. Don't forget to take you snorkel there! You will have to swim without to touch the ground... More

Going to this beach is an adventure, it was raining when I came, the trails is muddy and slippery, make sure you wear shoes, no havaianas. The beach has a special view...beautifull surrounded by hills. Snorkeling on the right side of the beach, I think it is more beautiful than the other side

This place is very special and should be more protected. It's a natural pool where the fish breed and raise, clean waters, it's like diving in an aquarium. Despite the "control" of the Brazilian environment authorities, I think that people presence in the pool should not be allowed because people break the corals and do not respect the rules of... More

If you loose the time to go, only next day, and that happened to me twice ... my advice, trust the time the hotel tells you and believe it, the sea is very on time!

It can be hard to walk if you have to go at midday, There is no shadow in the way and you are not allowed to protect yourself with sunblock because the enviroment protection. It is not recommended use shoes like Havaianas to avoid any hurts in your feet.
