It is worth a visit to this Lord Shiva Temple. It is Swayambhoo i.e Self Originated. You will like the coolness of this temple. Once you go inside you feel calm and energised. Outside the temple you get a good view of Old Mahabaleshwar . Ahead of this temple is Ugam i.e Starting point of five rivers which is also... More

Most traveller would know that there is a Mahabaleshwar temple which is supposed to be a 1500 year old shiva-lingam. The Swayambhu shivlingh (creation of nature itself) is large enough, and the surface almost looks like Rudraksha bead's surface. The temple is nice and is certainly one of the points to visit while you are at Mahabaleshwar.

Lord shiv is worshiped in Mahabaleswar temple. Its a very old temple and the shiv ling here is very unique. The shiv ling is like the outer surface of "Rudrakhya" and local people say that its a natural shiv linga and the Guru of Pandava "Dronacharya" 1st did puja of this linga. Near to Mahabaleswar temple, there is "Pancha Ganga"... More

This was surprisingly beautiful and ancient temple very neatly maintained without any problem. Easy "Darshan" was possible in a serene atmosphere without crowds pushing around. Must visit.
