it is definitely worth the picture, but not worth travelling all the way to see the cave. Recommended, in it is on your way to the beach :-)

Lovely boat ride in the crystal clear waters of an underground lake. Ride is 7euro which I thought was expensive plus take some change with you to tip the guy rowing the boat

A must see for any visitor to the island! A gentle boat ride around the lake, and through some of the caves... The oarsmen of the boat give you little information about the cave i,e, how its formed, depth of the water etc. Its also a very refreshing break from the hot sun... the deep water makes the air quite... We went here at the end of April before the tourist season really kicks off, so it was quiet. We paid 7 euros each, and then you walk down a steep slope in to the cave, and get in to a boat. I can imagine when it's busy here you'd be queuing down said steep slope for a while. The... More

For only 7 Euros we were able to see the cave and have a 10 minute boat ride on the lake. Anyone visiting Cephalonia must visit.

I know that the movie Big Blue was filmed on an Aegean island, but this place definitely deserved to star in that film as well. What fascinated me most was the fact that I was on a greek island having a totally unexpected experience. Me & my partner on a boat in a cave, almost alone. Since it was April... More

This place should be at the top of the visit when on this island. Firstly it is one of the few attractions of this kind worldwide. Secondly it is an ennjoyable experience for adults and kids. Finally it cools you down on a hot day! Best time to visit is at noon when the sun shines through the opening at... More

Our rower assigned to us was very nice & offered to take pictures of me with the lake & cave in the background. He even specifically rowed me around to get the photos I wanted. The trip lasted around 15-20 minutes. I went April 10, off season, so there was me & 4 other tourists in our boat. The water... More
