What travellers are saying
- Our Wanderings | E&JCambridge, UK87 contributionsWe visited the animal sanctuary as part of our day excursion to the Yarra Valley. The sanctuary is a good size and splits into 3 main areas which you can explore. There is plentiful to see and all the animals are native to Australia. We particularly liked the animal hospital where you can watch the vets perform procedures on their rescue animals. One thing to keep in mind is that there is not much cover between the trails, so keep that in mind if you’re visiting on a rainy day. There is also not too many food options so maybe consider bringing your own meal and snacks particularly if you’re in a big group as the food is a bit pricey.Written 19 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A lovely way to spend an afternoon.
The staff were welcoming and helpful, and we enjoyed the wine and snacks we ordered. I would recommend Chandon to anyone looking for a nice experience at a winery in Yarra Valley.Written 1 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravellerMelbourne, Australia15,759 contributionsMy wife and I visited this place a few days ago, as part of our holiday in Mount Dandenong where we stayed for two nights in a holiday cottage.
This was our second visit, as we were here two years ago. We enjoyed our previous visit so much that we wanted to visit again.
The collection of plants and the design of the Gardens are magnificent. We were here at 10 am on a Wednesday morning when it was not crowded, which made it more pleasant for walking across the whole place.Written 26 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very pleasant for an easy walk especially when the weather is nice. Some lovely trees along the way. Past Milgrove, it was more open areas, and less shady.Written 2 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sunny M1 contributionBrilliant day! Despite it being hot, there were so many areas that were beautifully shaded along the way with plenty of seating scattered throughout.
I’m limited physically, but managed to walk the entire 7 acres, stopping for rests at the various little oasis’s as we went.
We took our own sandwiches and ate them in the gardens ( plenty of picnic tables) , then stopped at the lovely courtyard cafe for coffee and cake at the end of our day.
Very reasonably priced for both our afternoon tea and the plants that we purchased too ( plants that I had been looking for ages elsewhere and hadn’t been able to find).
Perfect de stress activity and so much to see.Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
