What travellers are saying
- Tina K5 contributionsFor our wedding anniversary get away we decided to go somewhere we hadn’t yet . The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room s decor was warm and relaxing with beautiful views across the bay .The bathroom had a shower with a separated bath . Quality complementary products were available for guests. The hotel also had a gym &pool with a Sauna , steam room and jacuzzi to relax. The bar served an amazing array of food and drinks . The hotel also had a fine dining restaurant which unfortunately we didn’t have the chance to experience. This was our 1st visit hopefully on our next visit we will get the chance! Thank you to ALL the staff of the Fistral hotel for your hospitality.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin SWatford, UK1,426 contributionsLovely big beach, very clean with plenty of space to enjoy, even at busy times. Paid parking nearby and dog friendly at certain times too.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mend0Staffordshire, UK26 contributionsThis is our 3rd consecutive year here at WGB in November - we L.O.V.E it
Yes, the weather is unpredictable - but that's how we like it.
Obviously, it's out of Season - we wouldn't have it any other way!!
The Bay is beautiful, but sad to see how with each year's passing the beach becomes ever more troubled with debris - Thankfully ALOT of people do a beach clean whilst they are here!!
It will ALWAYS be a 'special' place for us.Written 17 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It creates such an amazing beach. The beach and water also unbelievably clean.Written 3 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Simon BHuddersfield, UK160 contributionsThis is a great beach with ample parking on the hillsides and on the beach itself. There are coffee/ice cream etc stands on the beach. The surf is marvellous and there is plenty of opportunity for surfing. There are shops close by where equipment and clothing can be hired. For those who just want to swim or play in the sea, the surfers are confined to a particular area and so there is space for everyone else too. We went in the hot summer and the beach was very busy buy not overcrowded. I loved it here.Written 2 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GunacDudley, UK143 contributionsThe entrance fee is acceptable at £13.90 for a senior admission. The animals seemed happy and contented in their enclosures and there was a reasonable mix of animals to view. There wasn't a great selection but we were pleased with what we did see. Two members of staff were in various locations throughout the day feeding and introducing the animals and giving information for the visitors. The animal crackers slot was really well received by the children who could be hands on with the skulls and skins available to view. The food outlets were clean and produce available at acceptable prices, not over inflated. Of course Cornish Pasties were on sale which were very tasty and the coffee was good too. Overall we had a good day 10am until around 3pm.Written 1 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Joshua JLondon, UK1 contributionBreath-taking, affordable, 5* treatment!
This place has the most incredible views, high end appliances and furniture and an oversized balcony. It's affordable rates compared to the others in the building is surprising given it offers 24 hour support and pure luxury across the road from the best beach in the UK!Written 10 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MrsTHodge2 contributionsI recently visited Lusty Glaze beach cafe in December with my son, who was staying for Christmas. I had not ventured down those steps for quite a few years and WOW, what a very pleasant surprise. The site had been developed since my last visit and everything about the place looked beautiful and fresh and tastefully decorated for the season. We were greeted by Maaike, who was very welcoming and were told we could sit anywhere, look at the menu and order at the bar. My son and i did just that and were treated to an incredible view of the high tide and stormy sea. We were cold, so had coffee and soup to start, which was delicious, followed by the Lusty Mezze board, which was generously filled with a fabulous array of meats, cheeses, crackers and other treats. Light, yet tasty and perfect to pick at whilst watching the weather roll in. On our way out we thanked Maaike for the food and excellent service and just started chatting. We spent another quarter of an hour, just passing the time of day. The food was a delight, the atmosphere cheery and bright and the the service was faultless; Warm, friendly, and attentive. We will definitely return. Thank you Maaike and team.Written 22 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BQCornwall, UK57 contributionsExtremely clean, warm pool, lots of lifeguards and staff cleaning, not too busy, children loved it! Changing facilities were great.
Only issue was that there isn’t a toilet with a baby changing table. So I was unable to go to the toilet with my baby as the child seat that was there wasn’t suitable as she is too young to sit up. I waited for my husband and son to come out so I could use the toilet, however if I was there alone with my baby I don’t know what I’d have done.Written 21 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The area was well planted with some very old stately trees and despite the dull drizzly weather there was colour to please the eye. Plenty of waterfowl around too and local people clearly enjoying their space. The cottages looked lovely although we didn't have time to visit thoroughly, one of them is now a local museum. A pleasant way to while away a morning or afternoon.Written 2 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
