There are cabinets and cabinets of pens and pen paraphernalia. These are well laid out and contain lots of i..."nformation but are so crowded that soon nibs and inkwells are dancing before your eyes. The friendly staff are happy to give as much information as you want and are also sensible enough not to force their considerable knowledge on you if you don't want it. At the back of this room there are some hands on bits with old school desks and the chance to use dipping pens and this interactive aspect is continued in a second room where there are also videos of interviews with those previously involved in the business.   "Dont Miss the Introductory Talk - Excellent Day Out"
  "Visited 5 May 13 on a lovely sunny day which made the garden trails enjoyable in their own right. The introductory talk (4 times a day) was excellent and brought the house and its occupiers alive; the link to Priest Holes and the evidence that supports what went on was delivered really well. It ..."kept me, my wife and 3 kids 8-12 occupied for the full 45 mins. It made the house tour when we went in that must more enjoyable, spotting inside what had been pointed out on the tour round the exterior. The guides as ever were excellent especially the below stairs and "Murder Room" ones; the latter made us seek out the church on the way back home. Last years diaries have been replaced by a watercolour artist theme. This was a bit disappointing to be honest as the originals were not on display, only copies which were lifeless to me.
