Three miles east of Worcester surrounded by glorious countryside and deer park lays one of Britain’s best-kept secrets. Virtually hidden from the road, and largely unaltered in the last century, this lovely 30 acre Victorian paradise, belonging to the Berkeley’s for over 400 years (whose other home is Berkeley Castle) has been lovingly created by successive generations of the Berkeley family and boasts an enviable collection of plant treasures from every corner of the globe.

"I have been a couple of times and each visit has been different. Of course you must get close up to Prince Arthur's tomb ( Kathryn of Aragon's first husband ) who died in his early teens and 'Bad ' King John's tomb. What a pity - as in so many places, the tiny placards detailing the history are grub..."by and far far too small. This visit I climbed the 350+ steps up the Tower...thankfully the climb and descent are radio controlled so you never meet another struggling claustrophobic tourist going up or down. ...and you get a certificate for getting up there. There was a wedding on during my visit...choir singing, bride processing...brought a tear to the eye !
