"We did a few other castle tours in Ireland -but this was the coolest because although it is only two towers that remain of the castle, the Irish OPW (Office of Public Works - like the US National Park Service) funded the steel staircase on the other side of the towers that allow you to climb all the..." way to the top and see each room in both towers. Our guide was Wonderful. It is easy to climb the steel steps, but the tour guide will let you know that if you have trouble walking, you can do the first two levels, but after that, the stairs take you to rooms with stone spiral staircases that are harder to maneuver for those with problems walking or maintaining balance.

"Listowel is the capital of the Literary Festivals in Ireland. I have attended these wonderful events and thoroughly enjoyed the talks, competitions, lectures and so many worthwhile events. Then there is the warm and sincere friendships...the welcome is mighty.. and of course bumping into the cream of..." the literary world is heart warming, encouraging and enthusing. But then Kerry is referred to as 'the Kingdom'! I long to go back again this year for their 42nd festival.at the end of May...they must be doing something wonderful and enticing mustn't they?
