Raintree is a true paradise hidden away in the Umwinsidale Valley. The property has been developed into a unique up market venue providing an ideal setting for any event, from weddings to corporate and private functions. This breathtaking venue maximizes on the best that any venue has to offer with pine forests, landscaped gardens and sweeping lawns that roll down to meet the Umwinsi River which is a clear water stream that cascades over a granite rock waterfall to settle in an idyllic pool below.

"Only an hour's drive from Harare, Lake Chivero offers a peaceful getaway for half a day, a weekend or a few nights of rest and relaxation. It has cave paintings, a good selection of game (although no lions or cheetahs - but it does have elusive leopards) including rhino, who are often found grazing ..."by the river in the late afternoon. There are also ostrich, giraffe, antelope and good selection of birds. Picnic sites are a bit run down and neglected, but still have shade and some have nice views. There are cave paintings and fishing sites (permits required). The lodges are basic and comfortable for self-catering, and some have great views. The entry fee for a local resident is $3 per day, and you can't get much better value than that, watching wild rhino grazing in the golden afternoon sun. There aren't many places left where you can enjoy this without armed guards or hordes of zebra stripped minibuses interrupting your view.

"If you're going to Harare, you simply MUST go here. If you're not going to Harare, you should go so that you can go here. And if you don't own a decent camera, go buy one because you'll really, really wish you had one once you're there. One of the best experiences I've ever had. Just magical."
