Famous "Swiss mountain" theme park and resort in Shenzhen. Even if you are not into theme parks, this one is not to be missed. Visually stunning, OCT East has been called the “Universal Studios of China” and offers rides, golf, magic shows, luxury hotels, restaurants, spas, and—believe it or not—a scenic Swiss village. Nobody does theme parks like China! Plan to spend most of your day here (though you could spend a week).
Noted in Time Magazine 29 November 2007 (opened 7 November 2007).

Also known as Fairy Lake Botanical Gardens, this massive, verdant escape has lots to offer even if you are not a botanical buff. A popular pastime among locals is to rent a boat and explore the lake.

This park, which is next to the China Folk Village, presents the country’s best cultural assets and landmarks (such as the Terra Cotta Warriors and the Great Wall) in miniature in one place. The experience is fascinating and gives the sensation of having seen China in a day.

This worthwhile attraction is part of Overseas Chinese Village (better known as OCT) and showcases the myriad minority ethnic cultures that make this vast country much less homogenous than imagined. It also serves as a great introduction to the history and traditions of China.

This reserve offers a great antidote to the hustle and bustle of Shenzhen (not to mention the city's many theme parks). Rent a bike or do some bird watching or just spend time on the boardwalk admiring the vistas of the city. It is the only nature reserve in an urban center in all of China.

Known among locals as Shenzhen’s “Central Park” this gorgeous green space provides both respite from the noise of the city and a picture-perfect view of Shenzhen’s skyscrapers in the distance. Don't leave without buying a bag of lychees, which grow on the park’s trees.

"We thought it was a small little place of interest but it was huge!!! All the famous landmarks were made pretty much accurately and well maintained. Took us well over 3 hours and we have still not fully covered the area! Well worth a visit when in Shenzhen. Things to bring when visiting Window - sun..."glasses, umbrella, fan and wear extremely light clothing and comfortable shoes. It was excruciating hot and humid so do remember to hydrate frequently.

"We showed up a little late but was given quick help and got our cart in time. As we were about to leave to tee off, I got stopped and asked torrent golf shoes as I only had sneakers. After that the trip was great. Played 18 holes on the World Cup course. The course was in great shape and the cad..."dies were great. We were teamed up a great couple from Hong Kong. They are members at mission hills and it was birthday for one of them, which means he plays free all day.
We then played the Vijay course for nine holes. It was in good shape and is easier than the World Cup course. Then off to nine hole on the Ernie Ells course. Yes, it is a lighted course and they do a descent job with the lights. The course is in fair shape at best, but who can complain playing at nite. All in all, a great time with great company.

"We went up to Hua Xing Temple since it has the only vegan restaurant in the area.
The tone of Hua Xing Temple is totally different from the rest of the theme park, but manage and maintained at the same professional level.
There are two entries, the main car park is 600 plus steps away from the..." temple, if you want to spare that climb, please use the entrance near the Mahayana hotel.
The Guanyin statue located at the peak is worth the 108 steps climb. The terrace offers great views of the golf course as well as the Interlaken town.
