One of the top attractions in the region, this outdoor museum contains the remains of many churches carved into the famous Cappadocia stone. Of note are the many excellent frescoes that can be seen when exploring the various structures.

"This tour was absolutely amazing. We had a guide and it was a wonderful exploring the caves (with wall paintings). There is a stream that also runs through. It was green and blooming. I went towards the end of April at about 11pm and there seemed to be very few visitors. At some point I got separate..."d from my group ( I was busy taking lots of pictures) and I walked for over 10 mins before I met another visitor.
There is a restaurant towards the end of the hike. Bathroom facilities are also available, but like every public restroom (this applies to those in tourist sites) in Turkey, you have to pay to use it. I believe it cost 1TL .So make sure you have your coins ready as you travel through Turkey.

"the rooms of this place are truly amazing, but I would not go alone.
Holding the hand of someone with a steady footing cam make this attraction a wonderful experience.
And a private guide can easily help with the difficult parts.
The good part is that there are no long narrow tunnels, so it is fo..."r tall people OK as well.

"We stopped here on our way to Cappadocia from Antalya. It was interesting to see the theater/hotel and there was a nice souvenier shop across the street. We also walked a ways up the trail and saw a few more ruins."
