- JunBaguio, Philippines21 contributionsFrom Philippine Eagle Center, I took a pedicab towards Malagos Garden Resort (fare: ₱30). Entrance to the resort is ₱495 and you are not allowed to bring in food/fruits (you may leave them at the reception area).
The ₱495 includes a complementary snacks of tuna and chicken sandwich with banana chips. The food is really filling and their restaurant is really cozy.
It was raining hard when I get there so I had no chance to visit the whole resort. The attractions closes at 5pm so better be early when you go there so you can enjoy the attractions. My suggestion is wake up at 6am and travel towards Philippine Eagle Center. From the center, go directly to Malagos Garden Resort and stay there until 5pm.
After my visit, I headed towards the exit and took a pedicab towards Tolada in Calinan (fare is just ₱30). Then took a van (fare is approx ₱60) towards Roxas Night Market (just across Ateneo de Davao) where I had my dinner.Written 23 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Take a jeep to Calinan Transport Terminal and ride a van with label “CALINAN”. Travel time is approximately 1 hour. I asked the drover to drop me at Calinan Market and from there, I took a pedicab towards Philippine Eagle Center. My fare totaled to almost ₱300 instead of the ₱1,300++ if I took Grab.
Take time to observe the birds and be respectful of the surroundings (no noise is allowed, no littering, no scaring the animals, etc.). Try to leave some tip as well as this will go to the management of the center. Don’t forget to bring some insect repellant. Mosquitoes are everywhere!
The only thing that I didn’t like is the small enclosure of the majestic Philippine eagles. I wonder if they get depressed inside their very small and restrictive cages!
After my visit, I went out to the highway and hailed a pedicab and headed nearby Malagos Garden Resort (fare is ₱30).
From Malagos Resort, I went across the highway and took a pedicab towards Calinan. I asked the driver to drop me at “L300 or Taloda”. From there, just ride the van going to Roxas Night Market (just across Ateneo De Davao) for a sumptuous and cheap dinner.Written 23 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gene R JSilver Spring, MD9,113 contributionsWe visited Asia’s largest bone museum today, taking a taxi($3.50) 7km south of the SM SM Lanang Mall.
After paying $8 for 2 seniors, we were given a 30 minute guided tour by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who studied Economics before Tourism. The 700 specimens all died of disease, old age or ingesting plastic/trash in the case with many of the marine specimens.
The goal of this museum is education about marine pollution.Written 12 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AativasIndia127 contributionsTo begin with, the museum has moved to Juna Subdivision, near PWC. They will be here for next two years - according to the staff.
This was my third attempt to visit the museum. First attempt in June failed, because they were not yet open at the new place. Second attempt in September failed because I went on Sunday, and it is closed on Sundays.
There is no entry fee. The museum is very small - only 50 objects displayed. However it opens a window to Davao city and helps to understand the city better. It gave me leads on what I need to explore more.
When I had some questions regarding the musical instruments, the young guide was available to answer it. There is an audio-visual (set of six or seven video clips) which is informative.
Overall good experience. I hope they will expand.Written 5 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My wife a Filipino was very upset to see the conditions underground that Filipinos were made to work under. The staff were very friendly and the guide very good. Do not go if you are clostrophobic you have to duck your head in a few places.Written 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TawengMdDumaguete City, Philippines268 contributionsI love this place.
I went to the place when it was just beginning to open and not too many people also.
I did not enter the first stall but looked around.
I went inside the BELEN store - managed and I think owned by the charming elderly lady plus two other younger ladies.
I was the first and the only customer in the store. I was prepared to haggle but she already gave me a good price so much lower than I had in mind.
So nice.
I will surely Come back when I will be in the city againWritten 20 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
