Located just a few steps south of historic Sonoma Town Plaza, the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art presents rotating exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. The Museum has built an impressive reputation during its first twelve years with shows featuring works by Picasso, Rembrandt, and Goya as well as acclaimed contemporary artists like David Hockney and Sandow Birk. Most exhibitions run 2-3 months. The Museum is also a community gathering place for art history lectures, community events, classes and celebrations. A new reference library features 2,500 art books. A small cafe in the front of the building provides coffee and tea and is a gathering place for Sonoma art lovers. It's a Museum with a big reputation but small enough to be a fun add-on to a visit to Sonoma. Convenient to restaurants on the Town Plaza, an hour enjoying the current exhibition is the perfect arts complement to Sonoma's food and wine offerings.

"I was in Sonoma 4 years ago and tried to book this tour but it was full & I went on Playpus Tour instead, which was great & I am still friendly with some people I met on it. But when I was going back to Sonoma this year, I was determined to try this tour and I am so glad that I did - it was the most..." fun. Riding a segway AND getting to try great wines - was just brilliant. And the guide was excellent - luckily there were only 2 of us on this particular trip (early Feb) - as I went with my cousin whom I hadn't seen for a while and Hunt was so patient with us as we had a family catch up over the wine tastings - the tour took much longer than scheduled due to our gossiping but we weren't rushed at all. And the segways are great, really easy to manoeuvre - you might find it a little bit tricky for about the first minute but then you get the feel for it and wonder how you thought it might be hard.
I also had to but another bag to take home as I bought so much wine..... Would thoroughly ...

"My friends and I signed up for the wine trolley last Sunday. Even though the trolley was not available, we had a great time. In fact, I was glad we had an air conditioned van, instead! The tour started at Ravenswood where we had a personal guided tour of the organic vineyards (with tasting throug..."hout). As great as the winery tours were, and of course, the tasting, I believe the tour guide/van driver is what made the experience. She was friendly, knowledgable and accomodating. She even brought a cooler with water and encouraged us to stay hydrated. This ensured that there was no unfortuate side effect from all of that wine! I recommend it this tour and would definitely do this again.

"captain steve was our tour guide and he is not your typical guide. he was so impressive! he called us the evening before to ask if we had any special requests or if he could plan our tour with exclusive vineyards. we were in napa so of course we were all about visiting the hidden gems. he took us to..." three wineries in the day and these wineries were ones you will not hear about unless you visit the grounds and purchase your wine on site or become a club member. we explored: crane family, o'brien, and frias family vineyard. he has a fun spirit to him and is extrememly knowledgeable. if you want to go to the touristy wineries like mondavi/ rutherford/ trefethen then i would just recommend beau wine tours and let steve handle the real wine connoisseurs. i would highly recommned requesting him b/c i sure do feel as though we lucked out getting him as our guide.
not only is he the best guide ever but he also has a talent of photography. the one photo he took of us was the best picture w...
