"Great wines and friendly hospitity. My wife and I have been driving by road to the Nelson winery for years as we traveled along highway 101. In March 2012 we stayed overnight in Ukiah and went exploring and finally drove up the country road to the Nelson Family wine tasting room. We received a frie..."ndly greeting by Sherrilynn and soon discovered what wonderful wines they produce. It really is a family farm with no pretentions and we felt welcomed as one of the family. We left with a case of wine and a bottle of their olive oil. The Nelson family also holds a "Barn Blend" event in April for its club members and we attended the April 2013 Barn Blend that is actually a gathering of club members in the rustic family barn. We met two other couples that day and the six of us came up with our version of a blend which to our surprise was selected by to be Barn Blend that will be released in 2014. What a great family event, And the Nelson wines a absolutely great!!!

"Rivino Winery is a lovely spot just off the 101 Freeway at the south end of Ukiah. The deck on the east side of the winery has a spectacular view of the valley where you can share in glasses or a bottle of wine with friends. Friday nights come with entertainment making it for a great way to end th..."e week. The wines are excellent as well. Bring a snack, buy a bottle of wine and share the end of the work week with friends.
