"We spent one day skiing at Granby Ranch, and found it to be a cheap and fun experience. It is a GREAT mountain for beginners; our preschooler had plenty of easy lifts and runs to choose from. It's small enough that I would not be worried about kids heading out on their own, and there was even an o..."ption to buy cheap lift tickets to just ride the basic beginner lift. Great value and options for ski school. Easy parking and short walk to the lifts. We were there over spring break, but never waited more than 1-2 minutes in a lift line, and found the mountain to be fairly open. The food in the mountain lodge was above average for a ski resort. All of the staff were outstanding, from the people who ran the gondolas, to the restaurant servers, to ski instructors. My only note to people unfamiliar with the area is to check the local forecasts; the week we were there Granby Ranch had lots of ice and melting snow while Winter Park (30 minutes away) had fresh powder and much better conditi...

"I stayed in Winter Park for Spring Break with a family group of 9. We intended to ski Winter Park for three days but only went for one and skiied the other two at Granby. It was wonderful! This was my 5th ski trip (first to Colorado) with my teenage sons and this was the first time that I did not ha..."ve to hunt for tables at lunch or make long lines for the lift. Surprisingly the food was good and public areas were clean and modern. It is a small ski resort perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers (it does have a few black and blue slopes). The best part is that the base area where you could comfortably find seating near the fire pit, is where all slopes converged from beginner to expert slopes - and it was not crowded. So some family members could sip hot cocoa watching the others arrive from their various destinations and since we were 9 we could easily reconvene to ski together or redistribute among the group. Additionally the lift ticket was half the price of what we paid at Win...

"Granby Ranch was the perfect place for my mountain top wedding. I have been to Granby Ranch several times over the years with my family and when searching for a location for a winter wedding Granby Ranch couldn't have been better! Between mine and my husband's family we had all levels of skiers/boar..."ders, including those that had no plans of skiing. The Granby area offered several locations for different types of lodging and lots to do other than speeding down the slopes.
One problem I was running into when looking for sites for a wedding was the limited avaibility of wedding supplies such as a florist or bakery. I found both in the Granby area and was very happy with the variety of options. Granby Ranch is also close enough to Denver it wouldn't be a huge inconvience to drive down the mountain if something special was needed. The help I recieved from the Granby staff was also great! Very organized and accommodating. I could have never pulled it off living in KC, MO without the help...
