I love this library!! The people who work here are so kind and make everything so easy. I loved spending time here before covid with my brother.

From the mosaic floors in the entryways to the beautifully carved wooden figures at the altar, to the enormous and original organ pipes, this church is beautiful and something to explore and marvel at.

Very enjoyable weather on this beautiful, leisurely day. A family had ridden bikes. This place great for exercise walking the hurricane barrier. At the ruins of the fort, were replicas of cannons and a beautiful view.

Fairhaven Town Hall houses many of the Towns business officials and their offices. Town Clerk, Town Collector, Building Department and Selectman’s office. Visually stunning exterior carries inside with ornate wood carvings and woodwork. Accessible during business hours to see and explore.

For a small town, Fairhaven has a rich history. From epic sea stories ( Joshua Slocum, Livesy, whaling, hurricane dike) to Revolutionary War Navel Battle, to famous philanthropy ( huttleston, Twain, Deleno) and great architecture: Fairhaven has plenty. Perhaps it’s most recent gem is the tourism director himself, Chris Richards. He is a knowledgeable, dedicated, public servant full of information. Check it out.

I took my grandson here for the 1st time. It is $10/person to skate, $3 for rental skates and a couple more $ for the beginners helper "walker" that one can push around. At 1st my grandson hated it but gradually as he started falling down less and seeing that ws part of learning and we ended up staying the full session of 2 1/2 hours. They do birthday parties and there were a few of them today. They also have a small arcade area with skee ball, etc. The carpeted seating areas were filthy, desperately need cleaning or just a total makeover. They do sell food and drinks..we did not partake. To my eye the only part of the place that is being kept up is the skating floor...I did see the man doling out the skates disinfecting with a spray before putting them back on the shelf..thank goodness. There is a miniature golf course on the same property that looks like it needs a makeover too, but they were closed today or we probably would have tried a round.

Went to the Bar side specifically to watch a Bruins game. It did not disappoint. they had a little trouble getting the game on as they have Direct TV and couldn't find channel. But they got it squared away before puck drop. HDTV's everywhere and all really good size. Not bad seat from anywhere. they have tables abutting the Bar given the Covid restrictions so they have lost some seating. Full liquour selection, and about 8-10 beers on tap(bud light, coors light, sam adams, leinenkugel summer shandy etc). Mixed drink (rum & coke) a little pricey $6.50 for an 8 oz glass that is chock full of ice. It was well proportioned(strong). 16 oz bud light draft $2.75 which is great price. Leinenkugel summer shandy 16oz $4.25, again good price. Really good menu. all the bar food regulars plus some higher end options that they make for the restaurant side. Had peel&eat shrimp for $10. got at least 10 shrimp. Small boneless buffalo tenders (5) was $9. BIG Papi burger(2 patties) was$15 with fries. Service was prompt and attentive and bar was full. Definitely a top destination to watch your sports in New Bedford area.

We had a great day of sailing on Buzzards Bay with skipper Laurel aboard their 31’ Pearson. The boat was well maintained and very comfortable. Laurel is not only an expert sailor but also an Underwater Archeologist. She told some great sea stories and instructed us on basing sailing techniques so we were able to trim the sails, steer and tack with her guidance.
The sail boat is at a mooring so Laurel arranged for a tender to take us out and back in after sailing included in the price. She also brought some snacks to share which was very thoughtful. All in all we had a great experience!

Bucket list was to shark dive! Was hoping to see a Great White, but unfortunately not this time. Captain Joe was a very nice guy. Sharks weren’t coming as fast as we hoped but he made sure we stayed until we saw them. Ended up seeing a a few Blues, a couple Mako, some dolphins, and seals. The captains arrived on time at the pickup location, and we headed out a little after 8am. If they hire more staff it would be cool if they did a photo package or sold some merchandise, but other than that it was a fun trip!
