  "WOW. From the moment we first met Andrew (owner of Kingfisher) with his knowledge and enthusiasm we knew we were about to have an amazing trip ! We had booked the Orca Waters Base Camp trip not really knowing what to expect but it turned out to be one of the most memorable trips we have been on. W..."e were picked up along with Julie and Nathan who had also booked the trip from Alert Bay by Chris in the water taxi who took us to Telegraph Cove where we picked up Andrew. We were immediately told there were sightings of Orca nearby and went to investigate, not only were there Orca but also dolphin and a very inquisitive sea lion who kept us amused. Eventually we headed off to Hanson island to set up camp and came across a couple of humpback whales, all this before we had even reached our destination ! Hanson island has stunning views across the Johnstone Strait and is a perfect place to view whales and wildlife passing by. The camp itself has everything you need, comfy tents on raised deck...
