It is home to large alligators and turtles as well. There are wonderful viewing areas and walkways. We visited it several times during March 18-23, 2013, and each day we saw new arrivals. HIghlights were dozens of nesting Great Egrets, Tri-colored Herons, Black-crowned Night Herons and Anhingas. We saw Green Herons, Yellow-crowned Night Herons, Wood Ducks, Hooded Mergansers, Moorhens, Little Blue & Great Blue Herons.
