Wildwood Stables is located at Fairfield Glade Golf Resort. The trails are excellent and the scenery is beautiful. Highly recommend this trail. They also have hayrides with excellent food and a play area for kids. It is perfect for families. There is an amazing 200 year old sycamore tree! The tree is recognized by the Urban Forestry Council in Nashville, TN on October 5, 2012, as a Landmark and Historic Tree. It was planted in 1864 by Hugh Center. The homestead was located along Walton Road which carried travelers across the state. Many famous people stopped by the Center home. The site was also had a school house/chapel and was the hub of activity in the area. The tree stands 94 ft. tall and is 16 ft. in circumference, with a crown spread of 165 ft. The tree is a wonderful place to marry with couples pledging their eternal love. Prayers said under the tree is believed to go straight to heaven. The TUFC has recognized 32 landmark, historic and heritage trees across the state to date. Wildwood Stable is also a stop on the Upper Cumberland Quilt Trail. The pattern chosen is called "Crossed Roads" which is significent to the heritage of the area and Tennessee.

"We ate here first on a Saturday with ribs and pulled pork on the buffet. Both of these were excellent as is the BBQ sauces offered. You can tell the locals know this because the places was busy beginning at 4:00 pm when they opened. The salad bar is fresh with excellent choices. The hot food has..." a good selection but not so many choices, which means what is there is good. Beans, greens, potatoes with rosemary and garlic (excellent) and 3-4 entree choices. Dessert had 4-5 choices plus soft serve ice cream. We then came back to have fried chicken later in the week - the chicken was okay but not the southern fried chicken that is awesome. The green beans with field peas and ham was excellent. The view and service is excellent. State Parks in Tennessee do not charge an entrance fee, so profit from this restaurant supports the parks.

"We popped in with four kids in tow on our way to a high school graduation next door. After explaining to our bar hostess our predicament (upcoming mixed family dynamics that would challenge our patience) along with our wine preferences I tried their merlot (conflicting flavors for my taste) and my w..."ife tried three of their whites. We came away purchasing their Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, which my wife really liked. The live music was very good, and my kids found some trinkets and fresh fudge to purchase in the neighboring gift shop. The wine hostesses were very friendly and very accommodating, even while tending to a full bar.

"We were in Crossville for a wedding and were hoping to go sightseeing in Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains but due to rain decided to not to drive the 2.5 hrs and try this state park instead. Wow! Everything was SO green and lush and the water was flowing through the dam with amazing force and beau..."ty. Streams were flowing, rain was dripping from all the trees and it was simply magical, like an enchanted rainforest. The dam is impressive and makes a beautiful backdrop for pics. Will definitely go back here the next time we're in Crossville to explore more of the park, trails and bridges!
