The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first illuminated Main Street. The downtown Franklin landmark closed in 2007 but the Heritage Foundation of Franklin, a nonprofit preservation group, stepped in to buy and rehabilitate the historic landmark. After three years of work, and an investment of more than $8 million, the historic Franklin Theatre reopened better than ever. It features classic movies and concerts from artists such as Little Texas, Jars of Clay, Mac McAnally and more.

"Fortunately, this was the first house we visited on our visit to Franklin so we weren't yet tired of hearing about the Battle. The blood stained floorboards and Confederate cemetery are sobering reminders of the sacrifices so many went through during the Civil War. Don't expect to see the house ex..."actly as it was during the war though. However, it is beautifully decorated in the style of that time period. We arrived just after a tour bus but the friendly ticket sales person made sure we didn't have to join a large group. I would have given it the highest marks if we had been allowed to take pictures inside!

"Our tour guide, J. T., was knowledgeable above expectations and brought the history of the house and how it related to the Battle of Franklin home in a way that kept you hanging on every word. A definite site for anyone visiting Nashville and the surrounding area. This tour was the third of the t..."hree Franklin Battle homes that we visited and was the final piece in a terrific trilogy.
