Ashbourne Attractions: Places to Visit in Ashbourne
"We went to Tayto Park fully expecting to be disappointed and not be willing to pay €12 to go back, as a couple with no kids we weren't expecting much entertainment from Tayto Park, but the weather was great so we decided to give it a go.
Upon entering the park we visited the Lodge restaurant and..." got two fresh sandwiches, with a load of hunky dory's on the side, served in a well run restaurant, it was slightly expensive but still nice and I would have no problem recommending the food there, for a themed park facility it was pretty good.
From here we decided to take in the tour of the factory, which could be improved upon, its basically a "self guided" tour through a corridor that has information all along the walls about Tayto over the decades, it then has viewing portals into the factory floor letting you see the production line, there was no production when we visited but we were aware that there is limited production on a Saturday and none on a Sunday. "Stayed in the Clarion Liffey Valley on a deal so didn't have to fork out €36 for my wife, son and meself thankfully. Spent a lot on attractions and food, so its not the cheapest. Not a lot for adults.
However, the staff are fantastic, its well laid out and offers a cross between a zoo and an amus..."ement park. Enjoyed the factory visit. Well set up for kids its the kind of place to visit once and decide will you be back. Me, maybe? My 8 year old in the blink of an eye. So, probably!

"We went to tayto park with our 2 children (6) & (2) and they had a fantastic day. The facilities were first class and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We took most of or food with up so we could have a picnic which worked out great. Great space, very bust but it's big so it's very comfortab..."le. You need to pay extra for some rides but it's worth it and it keeps the queues down. There wasn't much for the 2 year old to do but the playground but she enjoyed the animals. I wouldn't recommend for kids under 5 unless you have older kids also, height restrictions on some rides, you would need to be 7/8 if you were to go on all rides.
Go early and make a day of it and take a picnic enjoy we did
