"This is a nice state park for camping for a weekend. Access to the lake is very convenient and they rent boats. We drove down to the beach from the campsite because it is a lenghty and hilly walk. The water is very clean and the beach front has a nice lawn where you can spread out blankets and ..."get under some tree shade. We ventured out for a hike but the trail was not in the best of shape and appeared to be an old logging path. It was fine for an hour and a half excursion with children. Do some homework on the area trails before you come if you plan on hiking because there was not much in the way of maps. I am sure there were other trails in the area but we didn't have time to venture out too far with the kids. I would strongly recommend Area A, instead of B/C if you have small children on bikes. Those areas abut extremely steep terrain that would require you to keep a very close eye on them if they tend to wander. Overall, it's a nice campground.

"There is so much to say about Emerald Lake. The lake is a sweet spot in southern Vermont, so clean and clear, with views of the Green Mountains all around the lake, giving it a feel of privacy. There are boat rentals and a sandy beach. There are new changing rooms and facilities, great for a weeken..."d camp out, but plan ahead and make reservations.

"My boyfriend and I stayed at this camp ground for the first time Labor Day weekend. We both loved it and will be coming back. It was great for the first time ever camping together. Here are the things you need and like to know.
They do provide you with fire wood it's $4 a bundle it's right behind..." when you enter toward the left side, the sign is really really small. They do have stuff at the office you can buy for a $1 to help start the fire. I would say make sure you bring lighter fluid so you can soak the wood, because the wood might be wet. They do have fire rings with a grill attached to it.
The drive is beautiful, you have to drive through the woods to get to your site. You get your own picnic table and the lots are good sizes, you can have your vehicle on your lot. I would advise if you don't want to be near someone to look at their website and look at the campground map, that is what we did and were happy with it.
They do have bathrooms and showers.
You have to walk ...
