"The things i like about Okemo is its range for most people and the restaurant coverage on the mountain. I prefer a more all around experience with food, good food situated around the mountain, intermediate to expert terrain, a mountain where kids can roam comfortably, and the ability to relax when ..."you want.
For the total snow hounds looking for double blacks, real ones, Okemo is not the place, but for more cassual skiing, family skiing, rntals, lessons...Okemo is an ideal spot.
I see some of the other ratings, one that comments on the pricing. What I have to say about that is its a reflection of the industry more than of Okemo. There used to be a lot of family run mountains in New England, but over time they have either been absorbed and expanded or simply closed, for more info see http://www.nelsap.org/ Its actually an interesting little site with great photos for the nastalgic skiier.

"nice hike, sometimes steep, lots of beautiful waterfalls. Goes through the woods, across streams. There was a beautiful overlook close to the top, with views across Vermont mountains. Snow prevented me from reaching the top. Be sure to take the foot trail to the left of the trail head sign. The ..."bigger trail is a snowmobile route.

"We have used the park a number of times, enjoyed it. Boats available for rent. Careful in early June, as the black flies can drive you batty. There is a free weekend in June, where ALL the state parks in VT are fun to see."
