This place is so cute! They really are into keeping the place historical which I love. The saloon and breakfast place are also great!

Great small town museum with a large museum collection of information about Native Americans, white settlers, and a stunning display of sculptures by J. Michael Thomas. The downtown area of Buffalo has several pieces of Thomas's art work on display along it's walking tour. This is a museum you won't want to miss as you travel from Mt Rushmore, Deadwood area up to Devil's Tower and Little Bighorn.

Fantastic drive from Buffalo area to Cody. Beautiful views and then suddenly we were high up in the mountains and it was snowing (in early September!). The forest looked stunning and we pulled over safely and had a snow ball fight! It was beautiful.

First, some help in getting there. I tried to follow the earlier reviews. My big mistake was putting 974 Tipperary Road into Apple Maps and then starting to look for it about 1 mile before that (since another reviewer said that was 1/2 mile too far). Well in Apple Maps that address is about 3.6 miles too far. My second mistake was trying the GPS coordinates from another poster - Apple Maps couldn’t find those (the coordinates on my car GPS are in the picture). My third mistake was looking for the maroon building another reviewer mentioned. It may have been maroon once - I don’t know what to call it now but it is not maroon. See picture. Anyway, I spent a lot of time driving around areas that were too far to begin with - more time than I spent at the actual site once I found it. But the drive was beautiful🙂

Hoping to save you from my mistakes. from Buffalo take 16 East and turn right on TW Road (route 204). Take that for 7.2 miles and turn left on Tipperary Road. Go 2.6 miles on Tipperary Road - that is where the building and the sign I missed were. Turn left and it is .6 miles down a narrow dirt road.

As for the site itself, you see petrified stumps and signs about the geological history. At the end there is a petrified tree trunk. It was deserted and walking the path was very pleasant - nice scenery, a bit up and down rolling hills but not too strenuous (I am 63, overweight, and had knee surgery 8 months ago from a skiing accident that I am not fully recovered from - the only tricky part for me was the final downhill.) I enjoyed the visit, the solitude, the views, the great Wyoming breeze (on an 87 degree August day) and the informational placards. Clean bathrooms too.

Bonnie was very engaging, talking to us for quite some time about her lovely studio and gallery. Beautiful, creative works of art both functional and decorative.

Just visited the library and it is beautiful! They currently have a quilt exhibition with gorgeous quilts they are donating to county veterans. I edited the hours to reflect the current hours so hopefully TripAdvisor will correct the hours. They are currently not open on Saturdays; however, they are recruiting volunteers to work with staff Saturdays to re-open the library on Saturdays by June 2022. Here are the current hours:

    MWF 10 am -- 6 pm
    TTH 11 am - 7 pm
    Closed Saturday and Sunday

My wife and I spent a great Sunday night here after all the weekend traffic left. It was very quiet, and had many empty RV spots left over. We set up right next to the lake and got to view many passing fishermen and 3 Mule deer that came down to water the next morning. We got a wonderful nights sleep. The cost was about $10 for the night.

Stopped in and Laura was very informative about the artwork of the locals. Met the talented Belinda and admired her paintings. Also met Judy & loved her pottery. Something for everyone 🎶💕

We just did a short loop ( a few miles ) - very clear where trail was and a couple of key spots where trail entered and could review map -- probably should have just taken a quick picture of one. Nice hike and depending on time will head back to hit more of it. Do a search of the the internet - as we were going ; did a search and found a site that had the GPS coordinates that allowed Google Maps to give us a spot to park and go in.

This is a nice course in good shape and tons of trees. The greens were very fast when we played and quite tricky. Very scenic on some holes. The food in the clubhouse was pretty good also. Great service.

Margo has been defying the odds for gift shops in small towns for decades! She is hosting a chocolate party tonight with a baker’s dozen selection of dark chocolates, music, and fresh arts & crafts.

The Wahoo line of products taste amazing. They are always fresh made. I love to pick them up and take to family members and friends as unique gifts from home. I personally enjoy them and use them in my own cooking. If you are traveling through, this little spot by the creek is worth stopping in for and getting some take-home gifts as souveniers of your beautiful trip to Buffalo.
