On Thursdays, visitors and locals alike, line up to buy the sweet bread coming out of the Portuguese stone oven.Come join us! You won’t leave this place without feeling you have experienced a rare glimpse into Hawai`i’s colorful past.

Historic sites once covered much of the Kona Coast and these treasured places promote understanding of Hawaii’s heritage. The seven miles of Alii Drive, along the shoreline connecting Historic Kailua Village to Keauhou, generally follows the ancient route of the ala loa foot trail that evolved over time as a road. Four of the seven ancient Royal Centers in use in Kona are located on what is now called Alii Drive.
There are dozens of Points of Interest and Scenic Stops along the route. Discover Hawaii’s history on the Royal Footsteps Along the Kona Coast Hawaii Scenic Byway.

"Manta Ray night snorkel with Wahine Charters is awesome. Only a 20 min boat ride from the harbor you arrive at the sight just in time for sunset. On the night we went the sunset was truly beautiful. we put on our wetsuits provided by Wahine Charters while Captain Tim explained what we were about to ..."see and do he is very knowledgeable having done over fifteen hundred night Manta trips as well as having a degree in fisheries. Even with his great informational talk we were still shocked at what we saw and experienced. The Manta Rays came so close to us and are so huge and graceful it is an experience we will never forget, my ten year old daugher cannot stop talking about it. The night we went there were 8 different Mantas that showed up! Once out of the water the crew served us a delicious hot vegetable soup that was the perfect way to warm up. We were back at the harbor safely and quickly. Wahine Charters also does Spinner Dolphin Trips and Captain Cook Excursions during the day. Thank ...

"I was lucky enough to just spend 3 magical days diving with KDC this week and wish I had time for more. The entire staff was very helpful from my first email conversation to the last night dive with them. If you are looking for a dive shop that makes you feel like family, this is the one.
I did..." a 3 day package with them finishing the third day with a night Manta dive so I got to meet and interact with most of their crew. Everyone was so great and excited about diving. As a new diver and a decent air hog, I was worried that I'd ruin the dive trip for my insta buddy. Not the case with KDC though. We dove in groups of 4 with a DM. When I got low on air we made a trip back by the boat so I could do my safety stop while the rest of the group continued on. This allowed me to not worry about ruining anyone else's trip and made my dives that much better.
No matter which DM you end up with, you will have a great time. They are all very excited to share the wonderful sites with yo...
